What You Gain By Reading Books?

Reading makes a full man. It gives me great pleasure. It also improves my knowledge of my language. That makes me popular among my friends. I am now able to talk and write very well.

Books on travel widen our knowledge of the world. We come to know of the life, customs and manners of different peoples. Biographies of great men help us to make our own lives great and useful. We learn about new inventions from books on Science. We read in history books about the rise and fall of men and nations. We also learn from them how civilization has spread in the world.

Works of fiction and stories give us great pleasure. They make us forget our cares and worries. Plays and poems touch our hearts and elevate our souls. Thus we get pleasure and profit by reading books.
