The computer is one of the wonders of science. The computers are electronic devices. They are called mechanical brains. Today the compute is indispensable. It is used by a farmer as well as a scientist. By the use of computers the world has shrunk as a global village. The computers compute complex calculations. Reservation of buses trains and planes are done by computers. Insurance accounting, Stock control accounting and business accounting are done by computers.

Computers are used to probe criminals. The finger prints of different criminals are stored in computers. Graphics and animation are new techniques. They are used in hospitals to maintain medical records. Satellites are controlled by computers. Computers are useful in remote sensing. They are useful in various scientific and engineering tasks. Internet is a network of computers. Through internet we can have worldwide contacts. Our world has become a cyber world. E-mail, E-commerce, E-governance, E-class rooms are all applications of computer. Computer has made our world a global village.
